We have a plague of frogs every year. With all the rain we are getting this year I think we are doomed. We have found several huge frogs hopping around just waiting to procreate. The other night after a good rain, you could hear them singing loves songs to each other.
So, here goes my frog story...we keep the kids shoes in the garage, for obvious reasons. Jack had jumped in several puddles the day before and I was checking the insides of his shoes to see if they were still wet. The right shoe? Good and dry. Then checked the left shoe which had fallen on the garage floor. I first thought "oh gross" Jack left his wet sock in his shoe. So I pulled it out and was about to give it a flick of my wrist when all of the sudden the sock grew four legs and was no longer a sock, but a huge frog. I was swinging this frog by it's legs and upon realizing it I threw it and screamed, twice. Jeff was delightfully entertained. The kids cracked up. And I was left feeling ridiculous but yet justified in my absurdity.
The moral of the story: Make your kids check their own shoes for wet socks or frogs.
