Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

When Kaitlyn turned 4 years old, my parents bought her this little bike (well, almost this exact one, except her tires were black). She does not fit on it anymore and we bought her a new bike a couple of weeks ago. Instead of giving it away, we decided to transform it into a new bike for Jack!
1 can of Silver spray paint: $4.19
Sandpaper: $5.47
New bike tube (flat back tire): $4.99
Black handle bar grips: $7.19
Black seat cover: borrowed from Grandpa (used to be on Uncle Scott's old bike)

Cost of the "NEW" bike: $21.84

24 hours later......
We would like to find some cool decals or something to spice it up a little, but he LOVES his new bike! Hooray for making old things new!

Definitely a "re-cycle" :) Good for you.

Our neighbor across the street bought two new bikes for his twins and put the "old ones" out for the trash. They were beautiful...and like new. We gave them to our grandson and granddaughter and they couldn't be happier.

Disposable society, unfortunately.
